Chances are you spent most of the Spring putting in all the hard work and tireless hours to get in shape. You ate well, exercised regularly, and deprived yourself of a whole lot of fun. And it paid off! You began the summer lean & mean and in control.
But if you’re like most people, once the parties and barbeques started, you lost focus. We get it – it’s hard for most of us to find the key balance between fun and discipline once the summer begins.
Don’t panic. The good news is that you can easily get back on track. It’s as simple as doing what you did before. Don’t over complicate your approach or try to recreate the wheel.
Here are some quick tips:
- Eat only protein, healthy fats and vegetables until you reach your goal body weight. You may then include one carbohydrate dense food a day (starches, fruit)
- Narrow your window of eating each day (intermittent fasting)
- Strength train 3 x / week, including 15 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
- Perform steady state cardio 30-45 minutes 3x / week
